A successful and respected leader in the payroll industry, Richard King has logged over 29 solid years of direct experience in everything from payroll software development to executive payroll leadership. His wide familiarity with the entire payroll enterprise and first-hand knowledge at nearly every level of payroll systems management has uniquely positioned Richard to develop and support successful payroll systems for a broad variety of users.
Richard currently serves as both President and Managing Partner of Agile Payroll
Systems, a company that he co-founded in 2005 with partners Michael Harney and
David Hobbs. His entrepreneurial venture with Agile follows his impressive
tenure with InterPay, Inc., the nation’s fifth largest payroll processor,
serving over 35,000 clients. Starting as a Programmer Analyst in 1980, Richard’s
string of solid system performance and leadership responsibilities earned
him a place on their Board of Directors and as CIO in 2000.
Richard has been a member of the American Payroll Association since 1994 where
he worked with the IRS on the EFTPS Bulk Filer Task Force and was a
founding member of the National Payroll Reporting Consortium and is currently a member of the Independent Payroll Processors Association and Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council. Richard earned his BSBA in Management Information Systems at Northeastern University.
David Hobbs has over 28 years of software development experience, with the last 11 years in the payroll industry. A co-founder of Agile Payroll Systems in 2005, David is currently the Vice President of System Architecture. He brings a wide range of experiences to the company through decades of involvement with every aspects of the system development process.
David started with InterPay in 1998 and in 2003 was promoted to Manager of the Quality Assurance Department. There He was responsible for the testing and release of all software being developed for InterPay, both in-house and outsourced. Outsourcing included a large scale project with InfoSys in India, where David traveled to manage the team first hand. Since then, David has implemented the key processes at Agile Payroll Systems that integrate all application testing into the actual development process.
David has also consulted in the Fortune 500 arena and has led teams in developing independent websites to large mainframe applications. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree from Unity College.
Michael Harney is an experienced and highly-skilled professional of the payroll industry, focused on continuous improvement in technology integration and client satisfaction. As a founding partner of Agile Payroll Systems in 2005, Michael currently serves as its Vice President of Application Development taking advantage of his 14 prior years in various payroll leadership roles at InterPay, Inc.
Michael started with InterPay in 1990 as a programmer and was named Vice President of Development in there 1998. He led his teams in developing and launching two major, enterprise payroll systems
and the Internet Payroll Application adopted by the AICPA for their
clients. During his professional career, he has provided leadership for all phases of the system development life cycle.
Prior to InterPay, Michael worked as an IT consultant with projects in the government, chemical laboratory and retail sectors.
Barbara Tasho has 25 years of experience in the payroll field, having joined Agile Payroll Systems in 2006. She started her payroll career with InterPay, Inc. in November, 1979, as a Payroll Specialist. By 1998, Barbara was named Vice President of Operations and was also assigned the critical role of Operations Liaison for InterPay’s largest payroll system launches.
Barbara was an integral part of the conversion process from there legacy systems to each new system which included cross-country training and implementation of those new system in each InterPay location. Barbara brings a solid understanding of payroll operations and establishing system setup requirements to the Agile Payroll System team.
Paula Thomas brings over 18 years of experience in Systems Development to Agile Payroll Systems, joining our company in
2007. She has spent the last 10 years participating in the development of desktop and web payroll applications mainly in the payroll industry.
Paula specializes in taking user needs, defining system requirements and working with development teams to deliver efficient and user friendly products. She has participated in all phases of system development, including concept design, documentation, user acceptance testing, product roll-out, training and support.
Tina Venditelli joined Agile Payroll Systems in 2008 to head up the Compliance Department. She brings both a vast amount of practical tax processing experience as well as considerable experience in compliance of state and local tax issues during more than 10 years of payroll processing.
Tina started her career in the payroll industry in 1999 at InterPay, Inc. as a Payroll Specialist and after being promoted twice, became a Tax Specialist in 2000. By 2005, she was serving as a Payroll Tax Analyst Supervisor for the Brooks Pharmacy chain (now Rite-Aid), where she further broadened her tax background and expertise in tax filings and tax law and code issues.
Jane Levesque joined Agile Payroll Systems in 2005 as a Software Engineer, aiding in the design and development of both the payroll and the tax processing software. She has over 18 years of experience in information technology including: operations, system management, system analysis, business analysis, design and development.
Among her other experiences, Jane has provided support and developed expertise in customer service and billing systems within the manufacturing industry, managed claims and referral systems for health management organizations and supervised quarterly and tax processing system for InterPay, Inc.
